History

LIBERTY MOTOR COMPANY

Constructed 1922 - Builder: N. Saleh

Mr. Saleh built this 50' by 140' brick building in 1922 using workers on a "work for a day's pay" basis. The Liberty Motor Company was the first occupant. The Quinley Auto Company was here from 1925-1930. The Gold Belt Auto Company, a Willys dealer, was listed until 1937.

Gus Vendetti, Sr. founded Vendetti Chevrolet and moved to this location in 1937. During WWII when there were no new cars available he got cars from wrecking yards and rebuilt them to sell. Case tractors were also sold during the war. By 1966 the Vendetti dealership closed in 2005.

In 2005 the property was bought by Frances Gail Kostelny for the Fremont Bus Service which closed after siz months. The property was purchased by Manna House and closed in 2011.
